Our school building is currently closed, due to COVID-19. To view current counseling resources, please visit the Horace Mann - Counseling & Nursing Services Google Classroom. All students have been invited to join this classroom. If for some reason you did not receive an invitation, please e-mail me at [email protected] and I will invite you to join. There will be activities posted multiple times each week for every week that the building remains closed. I hope everyone is healthy and safe.

January Update:
This month we participated in The Great Kindness Challenge! Students were challenged to complete as many kind acts as they could during the last week of January. We kicked off the week with a Kindness Tunnel to welcome our students - the Mayor, Superintendent, Fire Department, Police Department, and others joined in the celebration.

To kickoff the month of December, we asked parents to participate in our CITIZENSHIP banner, by writing down ways to show citizenship in school. Thank you to all of the parents who added to our banner when coming in for Parent-Teacher Conferences.

November Update:
For the month of November we focused on RESPONSIBILITY! We created a school-wide RESPONSIBILITY banner, and students wrote ways to be responsible in school (shown below). October Update:
We kicked off the month of October with Week of Respect - a week dedicated to discussing and showing how we respect one another. As a school we created a RESPECT banner (shown below) with examples of ways to show respect in school. Our Kindergarten and 1st grade classes also began their Second Step lessons - a new social skills program being used in Cherry Hill!

Rude Behavior:
- happens once or twice - accidental (unintentional) - not trying to be unkind - can be solved on your own |
Mean Behavior:
- happens once or twice - purposeful (intentional) - trying to be unkind - can be solved on your own or ask for help |
Bullying Behavior:
- happens many times (repetitive) - purposeful (intentional) - trying to hurt someone - one person has more power (power imbalance) - need to ask an adult to help solve |
