Individual Counseling
Short-term individual counseling is available to students to assist with their personal/social and academic needs. Students may be referred for individual support by teachers, administrators, parents, or by self-referral. Counseling is available to all students, and confidentiality is a privilege that students receive when scheduled for individual counseling. Generally, what is shared during an individual counseling session is kept private between myself and the student, unless the student discloses that they intend to harm someone, someone is causing harm to them, or they are planning to harm themselves.
During individual counseling, I work with students to come up with goals that will guide our work together. My hope is to provide students with strategies and tools for dealing with specific issues, in order to help them feel prepared to address those issues on their own.
